Glenn Hardiman

Glenn William Hardiman, 88-year-old Jay resident, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011 following an extended illness. He was born on August 16, 1922 in Ashton, Kansas, to Oscar John Hardiman and Nellie Mae (Williamson) Hardiman. Glenn was baptized into Christ in 1934 at the age of 12 years. He moved to Rogers, AR, in 1936. Glenn graduated from Rogers High School in 1941. He served in the United States Navy from October 1942 to January 1946. Glenn was a farmer in Benton County, AR until 1974, when he moved to the Maysville area. He owned H & M Farms with Kip Mendenhall. Glenn was always willing to give farming advice to those who asked. Glenn loved all animals, especially dogs. He was very patriotic and had a great love for God and country. He served as Co-Grand Marshall, with good friend, Glynn Alexander, at the Jay Veterans' Day Parade in 2008. Glenn was a long time member of the Southside Church of Christ in Jay, OK. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jane (Myers); his second wife, Ines (Poole); and one step-brother, Stanley Stephens. Glenn is survived by one son, John Hardiman and wife Wanda of Hutchison, MN; two daughters, Susan Titsworth and husband Bob of Broken Arrow, OK, and Bonnie Dieckmann and husband Fred of Richardson, TX; four grandchildren, Wendy and husband Steve, Meggan and husband Adam, Becky and husband Michael, and Miranda; and eight great grandchildren, Christian, Joel, Sheridan, Gabriel, Preston, Taylor, Adilyn, and Piper. Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Southside Church of Christ in Jay, OK. Steve Stenzel, minister at Southside, will officiate. Interment will follow at Maysville Cemetery in Maysville, AR. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hope Harbor Children's Home, at P.O. Box 1047, Claremore, OK 74018. Services are entrusted to Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Jay.
