Harold Absher

Harold Wayne Absher, passed away at the Hillcrest Medical Center, Tulsa, OK on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the age of 76. Harold was born March 2, 1937 in Comanche, OK, the son of the late Henry Absher and Maurine (Proctor) Absher. After Harold graduated high school in Arkansas City, KS in 1955, he went to work in the oil field in south Louisiana. After working for several years in the oil field, Harold moved to Miami, OK where he attended NEO. While at NEO Harold married Vonda Lingo in Afton, OK and to this union Brad Absher was born. The family moved around while Harold worked overseas as a driller in the Petroleum industry. While in the oil business Harold worked three years in Iran and 12 years in Lake Charles, LA. He was known by most of his co-workers as the best directional driller in the business. Later in Harold's life he married Esther Ovadia in 1992 in Miami, OK. She passed in 2003. Harold enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and had a garden in his later years. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Esther Absher. He is survived by his son Brad Absher and his wife Amy of Houston, TX; granddaughter Madison Absher; five siblings: Richard Absher and his wife Marlene, Phyllis Doty and her husband Joe, Terry Absher and his wife Earlene, Henry Absher, Jr. and his wife Marsha, and David Absher and his wife Joan; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11AM with Pastor J.R. Driskill, presiding. The burial will follow at the Olympus Cemetery in Grove, OK. There will be public visitation on Friday from 12PM to 5PM at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK. Friends and family may leave notes of encouragement by viewing Harold's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com. Casket bearers will be Jack Strobel, Roland Spriggs, Russell Chandler, Richard Absher, Leon Smith, and John Calvin.
