Harold Mitchell

Harold "Pete" Mitchell, 81, of Talala passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Journey Home in Bartlesville Oklahoma. He was born January 16, 1933 in Talala, Oklahoma to Ernest F. and Edna (Hudson) Mitchell. He was educated in Talala Schools and was a lifelong resident of Talala. Pete married the love of his life, Earlene Sisson on March 15, 1957 in Winganon, Oklahoma. They moved to Oregon from 1962-1972 where he owned a Service Station, and in 1972 they moved back to Talala. Pete worked in the warehouses of Douglas, Rockwell and Boeing Aircraft Companies. He also spent some time working for Rogers County Rural Water District, Benjamin Funeral Service in Nowata, Talala Volunteer Fire Department, Talala City Council, and Mayor of Talala. Pete was a member of the First Baptist Church of Talala. In his spare time Pete enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, and swapping stories with anyone he could. Pete was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved people and will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife Earlene (Sisson)Mitchell; four children, Betty Youngers and husband Mark of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Debbie DeLozier and husband Jim of Nowata, Teresia Fuentez and husband Buster of Parsons, Kansas, and Harold "Tolly" Mitchell and wife Christine of Talala; seven grandchildren, Kendall Litwin, Aaron Youngers, Cassie Miller, Kati DeLozier, Melissa Glendinning, Keith Fuentez and Courtney Mitchell; two sisters; Geneva McConnell of Owasso and Margie Doshier of Talala; many other relatives and a host of friends. Mr. Mitchell is preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Edna Mitchell; and brothers, Otis, Ernie, Clyde, Carl, Melvin, and Elbert Mitchell
