Herman Chief-Miller

Herman T. Chief-Miller Jr. 76, of Nowata passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at his home. Herman was born on December 1, 1932 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Herman T. Miller Sr. and Bertie Secondine Miller. He married Anna Luella Martin on October 30, 1951. Chief was a member of the Armstrong Community Church. He loved to fish and hunt but especially enjoyed spending time with is family. Chief is survived by his wife Anna Luella Miller of the home, 3 sons Herman T. Miller III of Nowata, Charles F. and his wife Cindy Miller of Nowata, and Tony Ray Miller of Nowata, 1 daughter Sharon Annette and her husband Roger Laughlin of Goodman, Missouri, 1 brother Kermit Eugene (Gene) Miller of Nowata, 1 sister Phyllis Jo Barrett of Renton, Washington, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Bertie, 1 stillborn brother Charles Franklin Miller, 1 grandson Kirtley Brian Miller, and 1 great granddaughter Mackenzie Carley. Graveside services for Mr. Miller are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 in the Secondine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Chief's name can be made to the 1033 Ambulance Service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Home. Visitation for Mr. Miller will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from 8am until 9pm, Thursday February 19th and Friday February 20th from 8am until 9pm at Benjamin Funeral Home in Nowata.
