Ima Landrum

December 21, 1925 — February 9, 2011

Funeral services for Ima Sophie Landrum will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at the Lenapah United Methodist Church wit Rev. Steven Posey officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata. Ima Sophie Landrum was born December 21, 1925, in Logan County, Arkansas, to Emmett and Eunice (Willis) Hixson. She passed from this life Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at Jane Phillips Medical Center, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Mrs. Landrum was a 1944 graduate of Lenapah High School. She continued her education at Coffeyville Community College. In 1944, in support of the War effort, Ima worked at the Multi-Scope Corporation making war components and was a part of the Rosie the Riveter workforce. On September 16, 1946 Ima married Keith Bertram Landrum, in Kansas City, Missouri. They farmed and made their home in Lenapah, where she raised her two sons, and took care of her husband. She was a very loving wife and mother. He mother taught her to quilt and to become a skilled homemaker. Ima served the city for over three decades as the city clerk for Lenapah. She was honored as the longest serving Municipal Clerk in the State of Oklahoma. She volunteered and cared for others at the Lenapah Senior Citizens Center and was able to write for two grants for the Center. Mrs. Landrum was a life long member of the Lenapah United Methodist Church. She will be missed by all who knew her. Preceding Mrs. Landrum in death are her parents, Emmett and Eunice Hixson, her husband Keith Landrum, and a brother Wayne Hixson. Survivors include two sons, Robin Landrum, of Lenapah, Douglas Landrum, and wife Judy, of Edmond, Oklahoma, one grandson, Nick Landrum, many nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.
