Jack Albert Bricker of Grove, Oklahoma passed away on March 30, 2025 at the age of 79. He was born on September 5, 1945 in Neosho, Missouri, to Carl and Frances (Suggs) Bricker. Jack was raised in Des Moines, IA and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1963.

In 1966, Jack joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country as a Sergeant. While serving as an Air Force Security Policeman at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, he met the love of his life, Brenda Kay Samples. The couple married on May 16, 1969 after a three month courtship. They celebrated 49 years of marriage before Brenda Kay passed away in 2017. From this union two sons were born. The couple made their home in Altoona, IA where they raised the boys.

Jack worked for Chicago North Western Railroad in Des Moines for several years before it was bought by Union Pacific Railroad and the couple then moved to Council Bluffs, IA where Jack worked the remainder of his 34 year career as a Timekeeper with the railroad.

After retirement, Jack and Brenda Kay moved south to Grove, OK to be closer to her family and spent a lot of time at their vacation home in Port Aransas, TX (North Padre).

Jack was an avid bicycle rider and spent a lot of time on the roads of Iowa and later could be seen riding his Trek around Grove, OK as well. He looked forward to riding his bicycle across the state of Iowa every year during Ragbrai. He made the journey from river to river over twenty times on his own bike as well as on a tandem with Brenda Kay.

Jack was happiest outdoors. He enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables, bird watching and loved to talk about trees. The family spent a lot of time on their Mark Twain boat when the boys and grandchildren were young, water skiing and fishing.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him, but most of all by his loving family left to honor his memory. Beloved sons, Kirk Vincent Bricker and wife Danielle of Goldfield, Iowa and Jonathan Aaron Bricker and wife Yolonda of Conrad, Iowa. Grandchildren Ashley, Kaylie, Kaden, Lily and James Bricker and Great grandson Lucifer Bricker. Jack is also survived by his sisters Janie Gates of Des Moines, IA and Judith Kent in Herndon, Virgina. In-Laws Iva Lou Samples of Grove, OK and Al (Sonny) & Yvonne Samples of Farmington, AR, many nieces and nephews as well as cherished friends.
