Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK 918-786-2261. Jack Lee Phillips, 78, passed away on October 12, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Jack was born on November 16, 1936, in Springfield, Missouri. He was the son of Thomas Lee and Flora Bell (Hubble) Phillips. Jack graduated from high school in Miami, OK. He then graduated from NEO A&M with an Associate's Degree in engineering. Jack then attended Oklahoma State University. Jack was united in marriage to the love of his life Carolyn Ulm on August 23, 1958. Jack lived a full life. He was an Oklahoma State Champion Skeet Shooter. He was the co-founder and executive vice president of Optimized Process Furnaces in Chanute, Kansas. Through his work he traveled all over the world doing start-ups of OPF Equipment. While Jack lived in Chanute, he was the President of the Rotary Club, President of the Chamber of Commerce, The Privateers Flying Club, and active in the Gold Wing Road Riders. He was also active in the Chanute First United Methodist Church. Jack and Carolyn retired and spent their time traveling all over the United States with their RV club. They permanently moved to Grove, Oklahoma in 1997, where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was active in the First United Methodist Church of Grove where he served in the prison ministry, but he looked forward to wintering in Naples, Florida. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his son Rob Phillips and his wife Sandy of Chanute, KS, and two grandchildren Eric and Evan Phillips, and one brother Ron Phillips, of Tulsa, OK, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 16, 2015, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, OK with Dr. Richard Dayringer officiating. Jack will be laid to rest beside Carolyn in Olympus North Cemetery in Grove, OK. Family and friends may leave online condolences by viewing Jack's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com.
