Jacqueline Wellcome

Jacqueline Lucienne Wellcome, 78-year-old resident of Zena, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.

Jacqueline was born on February 26, 1943 in Areentieul, France, during the middle of WWII. She was the daughter of Reneé Pernes. She was united in marriage to Marvin LeRoy Wellcome, Jr. on May 9, 1960 in LaRochelle, France.  Jackie worked as a cook for Zilliah Middle School in Humboldt, Kansas.  LeRoy and Jacqueline retired to live at their lake home in 2003.  Jacqueline was a devoted Christian, was secretary of Sunday school at Zena Baptist Church, quilter, seamstress and gardener.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her mother and her husband and her sister Dede.  She is survived by her four daughters: Dominique Doughty and husband Kirk of Livingston, Texas, Tammie Wellcome-Casarin and husband Juan of La Porte, Texas, Reneé Wellcome of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Joël Alexander and husband Don of Evening Shade, Arkansas. Jaqueline was blessed with ten grandchildren: Zane Crepinsek and wife Tatiana, Joel Crepinsek, Joab Barr, Travis Doughty and wife Hannah, Jarred Barr, Hilery Alexander, Montan Winebrenner, Alyssa Barr, Eiselee Barr, Josiah Casarin, and 5 great grandchildren.  Jacqueline will be missed by her brother Lili Pernes and wife Paulette of La Rochelle, many nieces and nephews here and abroad and a host of friends.

Last but not least Jacqueline Wellcome was the ultimate, hardcore, family Pollyanna game champion and queen....Ode to you Mom... and your platelets. Love to you, You will be missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 30, 2021 at Zena Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Thomas officiating.  Jacqueline will be laid to rest in the Zena Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jacqueline’s name to Zena Baptist Church.
