James Battige

James Gordon Battige James Battige age 71 died at his home in Grove, OK, on Monday October 12, 2009. The son of Leonard and Laverne Lentz Battige, he was born on March 3, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He served in the US Army. James married Barbara Phillipp on June 27, 1964. They moved to grove in 1999 from Shawnee OK. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grove. James was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan and an all around sports fan. He loved church activities, gardening, working outdoors, and golfing making a hole in one in 1982. He loved spending time with his family Surviving is his wife Barbara Battige Two sons Gary and wife Beth, and Robert and wife Stacy Battige A brother John Battige Grandchildren Jordan, Kaitlyn, Bobby, Kelseigh and Garrett Battige The funeral will be at 10:30 am on Friday October 16, 2009 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grove, OK with Pastor Leo Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow in the Olympus North Cemetery. There will e a visitation for family and friends at the funeral home from six to eight on Thursday evening.
