James Bolden Sr.

Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555. James Willis Bolden, Sr., 89 year old Vinita resident, died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at St. Francis Vinita Hospital. He was born on December 15, 1927 in Okmulgee to Irene (Milton) and Nesby Bolden. James attended school at Booker T. Washington in El Reno, Oklahoma, where he played football and played in the band. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 25, 1946, He served in World War, II and Korea before retiring in December of 1957 from the armed services. James married Susie M. Johnson on June 11, 1952 in El Reno, from this union three sons were born, Darrel Bolden, who preceded him in death, James W. Bolden, Jr., and Charles Bolden. On April 13, 2010 James was united in marriage to Faye (Hardrick) Bolden in Miami. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and dominoes and listening to his blues. James leaves to cherish his memories; his loving wife Faye of the home; sons, James W. Bolden, Jr. of Fairfield, California, Charles Bolden of Oakland, California and daughter, Shanae Bolden of Tulsa; step-children, Brian Hardrick (Tommie) of Bentonville, Arkansas, Antoinette Hardrick of Vinita and a host grandchildren, other relatives and friends, who will miss him dearly. Preceding him in death were his parents, one son, Darrel, a sister, Nellie Web, brothers, Nesby, Justice and Clifford. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Vinita, with Pastor Robert Ramsey officiating. Interment and Military Rites will follow at the Ketchum Cemetery.
