James Bushyhead

James Butler Bushyhead, 83 of Grove, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021.  James was born in Jay, OK on August 1, 1938 to James Butler and Liddie Bell (Elam) Bushyhead.  He worked as a splicer for Southwestern Bell for numerous years, retiring as a supervisor.  He was very proud of his Cherokee heritage, enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and going to the casinos.

Survivors include his children: Jimmie Mitchell, Bob Bushyhead and wife Christine, Charlie Bushyhead and wife Stacy, Lori Rockwood and husband Farron, 7 grandchildren: Ryan Tramonte and husband Michael, Taylor Smith and husband Jacob, Tanner Bushyhead, Keaton Bushyhead and wife Danika, Cullen Rockwood, Denni Rockwood, and James Parker Bushyhead, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and niece and nephew Laura and Joe Bushyhead.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill Bushyhead and wife Jane, and nephew Glenn Bushyhead.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2021 at Snell Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
