James Henry Lewis at the age of 77, passed away on September 30, 2021, at 10:15 am in Miami Oklahoma Integris Hospital after a short illness.
James has lived in Oklahoma his whole life in different areas of the state. He was born in Turkey Ford to Harry M. Lewis and Myrtle Marie (Rhodes) Lewis.
James married our mother Clara Louise Matlock on April 19, 1963, in Miami, Oklahoma. They had 5 children: one daughter and four sons. He loved to visit, he never met a stranger, if he had a chance he would always ask “what do you think heaven is going to be like” now he knows. He loved getting together with his family. James loved riding his motorcycle. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by bunches.
James is preceded in death by his father, Harry M. Lewis, his mother Myrtle M. (Rhodes) Lewis, his wife Clara Louise (Matlock) Lewis, his brother Jerry Lewis, sister Billie (Lewis) Hunt, great grandson Jonas Lee Morgan.
He will be dearly missed by his daughter; Anita and her husband Jerry Burleson of Bentonville, Arkansas, his four sons: Darrell Lewis and his wife Pam of Anderson, Missouri, Ronnie Lewis and wife Sharla of Canon City, Colorado, Mark Lewis and wife Jocelyn of Wyandotte, Oklahoma and Travis Lewis and wife Erica of Fairland, Oklahoma. James was blessed with 9 grandchildren: Brandi Morgan and husband Jeff of Bentonville, Arkansas, Alicia McCratic and William Jones of Bentonville, Arkansas, Kimbery Shockley and husband Tyler of Powell, Missouri, Caleb Lewis of Tonganoxie, Kansas, Kelsey Lewis of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Holland Lewis of Fairland and Hadessah Lewis of Fairland, Oklahoma, Merritt Lewis of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Hayden Sugg of Toledo, Ohio. Five great grandchildren; Aubrey Morgan and Garrett Morgan of Bentonville, Arkansas, Graceland Jones and Harper Jones of Bentonville, Arkansas, Cash Shockley of Powell, Missouri. He is also survived by three sisters: Sarah Lewis of Conroe, Texas, Viola Floyd of Wyandotte, Oklahoma and Linda Trenary of Grove, Oklahoma.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-7 PM, Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Graveside services will held at 10 AM , Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Howard Cemetery in Turkey Ford.
