James Walter Woods, Jr.

James Walter Woods, Jr., 77 year old resident of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on June 4, 2023.

James was born on June 9, 1945, in Yakima, Washington.  He was the son of James Walter Woods and Catherine (Reeder) Stanley.  James proudly served in the United States Air Force.  He earned his associate degree in criminal justice at Rogers State University. James owned and operated a bail bondsman business in Wagoner, OK for 36 years.  He enjoyed chasing the “bail jumpers”, considered that the fun part of the business.  James always kept busy, tinkering in his shop, welding, and wood working.  He was very particular when it came to mowing the yard, had to be done just right.  He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and trikes, going fishing, spending time with his family, and spoiling his grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife Jackie, four children: Terry Woods, Rick Woods, Thomas Darin, and Suzanne Hutton, ten grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents: James Woods and Catherine and Robert Stanley, and his sister Catherine Russell.

Graveside Memorial Services will be 10 a.m., June 14, 2023, at Duffield Cemetery in Jay, OK with Mr. Jeffry Gibe officiating.  Services have been entrusted to Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
