Hicks Jr. are 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Full Gospel Christian Center in Watova, Oklahoma with Charlie Watashe officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata. Jeff Davis Hicks, Jr. passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 in Dewey, Oklahoma. He was born August 2, 1927 in Big Fork, Arkansas to Laura Lee (Anderson) and Jeff Davis Hicks, Sr. He attended high school in Mena, Arkansas and entered the United States Army on November 15,1945. He was discharged on November 16, 1946. Jeff returned to Mena where he graduated in 1951. He attended University of Tulsa for two years. On December 20, 1958 Jeff married the love of his life Dorothy Jean Lowe in Tulsa. He worked for the United States Post Office in the building maintenance department. In 1979 he moved his family to Nowata where he has lived since. Jeff enjoyed bowling, singing at church, fishing, gardening, reading and traveling. He loved board games was always out to win. He really enjoyed watching the Oklahoma City Thunder and was an avid fan. Everyone always loved his cakes and candies he made at Christmas time. Most of all he loved his family. His wife, children, grandchildren and other family held a special place in his heart. He will be missed by all who knew him. J.D. is survived by his wife Dorothy of the home; two children, Randy Hicks and his wife Tina of Dewey, Oklahoma, Kimberly Hicks of Bartlesville; five grandchildren, Kristen Evans, Justin Hicks, Ashley Hicks, Dustin Savage, Lyndsee Messner, special family member, Terry Hicks and eleven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Laura and three siblings, Ralph Hicks, Hazel Newsom, Pete Hicks. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
