Jeffery Speer

Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555. Jeffery Eugene "Jeff" Speer, 51 year old well known resident of Bluejacket, passed away early Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Freeman Hospital in Joplin. He was born on June 7, 1963 in Welch, to Arnold and Carol Lea (Berry) Speer. Jeff was a 1981 graduate of Bluejacket High School. He worked at the Neill Feedlot for several years after graduating, and in 1991 he went to work at Atlas Telephone Company and was still currently employed with them. Jeff married Cindy (Cravens) on January 1, 2000 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Jeff was very active in the Bluejacket community, he was the President of the School Board, on the Volunteer Fire Department and ran the chain gang at the high school football games. He loved to fish, root on his Kansas City Royals and Oklahoma Sooners. Jeff will truly be missed by his family and his community of friends in the Bluejacket area. Preceding him in death was his mother, Carol Lea Speer. The family includes: his wife Cindy of the home; his father, Arnold Speer of Bluejacket; grandmother, Juanita Berry of Bluejacket; his children, Brett Speer, Leeann Speer both of Bluejacket, Hali Fulton and husband Justin of Vinita, Heather Simmons of Joplin; sisters, Karen Siler and husband Keith of Miami, Linda Olson and husband Robert of Houston, Texas, a brother, Gary Speer of Bluejacket; grandchildren, Ryan Swiatkowski, Dalton Simmons, Cash Simmons, Natalee Speer, Jhett Fulton, Jhagger Fulton and Jhaxx Fulton. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Luginbuel Chapel in Vinita. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM, at the Bluejacket School Gymnasium, with Rev. Leonard Stoner officiating.
