Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, OK (918) 256-5555...... Jo Ann Daugherty, 87, of Chelsea, Oklahoma passed away at her home January 31, 2019. She was born October 26, 1931 to Charles and Anna (Thomas) Byrd. She graduated from High School and continued her education earning her certificate as a beautician. On January 20, 1961 she married Junior "Chuck" Walter Daugherty in Oklahoma City, Ok. Jo Ann worked as a beautician for over 40 years and met and made many friends. She loved working in her yard gardening and caring for her plants. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, raising chickens and chihuahua puppies. She also liked fishing, traveling, and reading her bible. Jo Ann liked listening to music and drawing. Above all she loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchild held a special place in her heart. Jo Ann will be missed by all who knew her.
Jo Ann is preceded in death by her husband; parents; a daughter Cathy Ferguson; sisters Deloris Tolson, Shirley Byrd, and Johnny Ann Byrd.
Survivors include children Threasa Devries and husband Bill of Highland, Indiana, Cynthia Heaton and husband Norman of Owasso, OK; siblings Mary Abraham of Yukon, OK, Charlene Chyz of Houston, TX, Dorothy Cummings of Midwest City, OK 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Services will be Monday, February 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Henry "Skip" McClain officiating. Interment will directly follow services at the Landrum Cemetery.
