John Wendell Farrell age 66, resident of Noble Ok., for the past 21 years, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006 at the Norman Hospital. John was born July 20, 1940, Dewey Oklahoma; son of Oad and Esther (Webb) Farrell. John grew up in Nowata and attended school there until he and his mother left for Iowa then California. In March 1958 John enlisted in the United States Air Force in Los Angeles Ca. He retired from the Air force May 31, 1981. He is survived by his wife Sharlee of the home, one brother Wayne M. (Sleepy) Farrell of Nowata, one sister, Mary L. Branstetter of Muskogee OK and step children, Carolyn Branaman of San Angelo, TX; Bobby & Sherry Haggerton of Brownwood, TX; Billy Haggerton of San Angelo TX; Peggy MacNeil of Tacoma Washington; Gunny Sgt; Charles MacNeil, Barstow CA; Donald MacNeil, Kansas City MO., and niece and nephews and step-grandchildren and lots of friends. John and Sharlee (Birge) MacNeil were married August 8, 2005, in Cleveland Co., OK. John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert V., Ralph D., and Leonard E. and one sister Shirley Farrell. John was also preceded in death by his first wife Janice (Sherrod) Farrell, March 1973 and by his second wife Mary Jean (Anderson) Haggerton Farrell, December 2004. John loved his family and music and loved life. He taught him self to play the guitar while in his early years while in the Air force and even had his own bands. While in the Air force he had the good fortune to really travel the world. With the knowledge he gained while in the Air force, after retirement, he went to work for Oklahoma University and built there first laser. Then he went back to school and learned to become a printer and worked for the Print Shop in Oklahoma City until he retired. Then the computer age started, and his genealogy work started and his web sites. He has at least 19 websites on the Internet. Most recently, he and his wife Sharlee work hours and hours on genealogy, not just for their family, but for people who just asked for help. It was very important to him that he and Sharlee help families find their family. Loving husband, friend. "A Friend to everyone"
