John Heltzen

Luginbuel Funeral Home 918-256-5555. John Ivar Heltzen, 66 year old Grove resident, passed away on Thursday April 13, 2017 at the Clarehouse in Tulsa. He was born on October 25, 1950 in Tucson, Arizona to John I. and Virginia (Havemeyer) Heltzen. After high school, John served his country in the United States Navy, during Vietnam on the USS Nereus. He had worked construction in the petroleum industry. John was a member of the Rolling Thunder and the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and supporting many veterans groups. John was a member of the New Life Church in Vinita. The family includes: his two daughters, Andrea Rake and husband Brandon of Collinsville, Laura Albritton and husband Andrew of Ft. Collins, Colorado; a brother Rolf Heltzen of Woodward and a granddaughter, Harper Perry of Collinsville. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and step-father. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the New Life Church with Pastor Kevin Baker officiating.
