Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, OK....918-253-3222....John Wilburn Vann, 79 year old, Jay, Oklahoma resident passed away, Monday October 13, 2014 in Joplin, Missouri. John was born on April 5, 1935 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Sam Vann and Anna (Sultzer) Fields. John attended Little Kansas schools. He joined the United States Army and served his country honorably. After the service John moved around to various places working as a mechanic and cutting wood. He married Nina Foreman on June 11, 1992 in Clouds Creek. John enjoyed fishing but most of all he loved to be with his family especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. John was preceded in death by his parents; one son Ronald Vann; two sisters: Carolyn Stick and Tracy Cochran; and one nephew Michael Fields. He is survived by his three sons: Don Vann and his wife Teresa o Rocky Ford, OK, Robert Vann and his wife Freda of Jay, OK, and Jerry Chuwalooky of Kansas, OK; two daughters: Vonda Lyman and her husband Jason of Kansas, OK, and Janella Daniels and her husband Vance of Kansas, OK; one sister Jeannie Yeager of San Antonio, TX; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services for John will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Clouds Creek Baptist Church. Reverend Stanley Grass and Reverend Fox Blackfox will officiate. Visitation will be from 6PM to 8PM on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, OK. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, OK.
