Johnny Westbrook

Johnny Ray Westbrook, age 74 a resident of Cleora, OK died Monday July 13, 2009 at Integris Grove General Hospital. He was born May 18, 1935 in Dierks, Arkansas the son of John Ray Westbrook and Elizabeth Cox Westbrook. He grew up and received educated in De Queen, AR graduating from De Queen High School. He Joined the U.S. Air Force in August 1954. Johnny and Shirley Brinegar were married on July 25, 1955 in Raton, New Mexico. Johnny continued his military service in Japan, Viet Nam where he earned the Bronze Star and served at several other assignments until his retirement in 1975. Johnny began a second career with E Systems in Greenville, TX retiring after ten years, then moved to Cleora at grand lake in 1985. He was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Johnny is survived by his wife, Shirley of the home, two daughters, Sherry and her husband Brent Johnson of San Antonio, TX, Debora Westbrook of Greenville, TX and one son Russell Westbrook, Mexia, TX, a brother, Don Westbrook of De Queen, AR, six grand children and two great grand children. Graveside Funeral Services will be Friday July 17, 2009 at 2:00 p. m. in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Gravette, Arkansas with Rev. Jo Jones officiating under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home Vinita, OK.
