Joshua "Josh" Cody Gooding, age 22 of Grove, Oklahoma was called to God's eternal home on Friday, July 22, 2016 while working on Grand Lake. Josh came in to this world on February 23, 1994 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was a lifelong resident of Grove and attended Grove Public Schools. Josh was employed by Shepherd's Dock Construction on Grand Lake. Josh enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad, going floating, swimming and cooking out with his friends, family and longtime girlfriend Taylor. He was an amazing cook and was always cooking for his two favorite women in his life, Taylor and his momma. Josh also enjoyed spending time with his only niece and nephew, Jaeleigh and Jaxton, "they were the light of his life". It didn't matter if it was playing in the water hose or rough housing in the living room. He always made time for them. When Josh wasn't working, he loved messing with his truck, listening to music, watching movies, and being with Taylor. He loved to spoil Taylor by making sure she had anything and everything her heart desired. He had planned on marrying her and getting a house together around the lake area, because as he loved being around the water. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Susan Gooding, his paternal great grandparents, Francis and Lorene Shepherd, his maternal great grandfather Leon Grayson, and his maternal great grandparents, Robert and Anna Mae McGhee. Josh is survived by his loving parents, James and Jo (McGhee) Gooding of Grove; Big brother Eric Gooding of Grove; Big sister Jennifer and her husband Tyler Hughes and their children Jaeleigh and Jaxton of Zena; His longtime girlfriend Taylor Davis of the home; grandmother Sandra Cooper of Grove; Shaunda and Jared Davis (Taylor's parents) he considered second parents of Zena and Bobby and Barbara McGhee of Jay. Josh also has many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2016 at Foundation Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Smith Officiating. Josh will be laid to rest in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
