Julia Spaulding

Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Grove,OK (918) 786-2261 - Julia Ann Sleepy Spaulding "Julie" as she was known by her friends passed away on July 4, 2015. She was born in Markle, Indiana on September 8, 1924 to Ralph and May (Gooden) Sleepy, but was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Upon graduation from high school in Tulsa, she attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where she met and married Jack Brown from Little Rock, Arkansas. While her husband was in the service during World War II, Julie returned to Tulsa. She later worked for ONEOK, retiring 31 years later as Human Resource Manager. In 1983, she moved to her home on Grand Lake on Ghost Hollow just north of Disney. In 1985 she moved to Grove. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority, a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, the Cherokee Grove Ladies Golf Association and the Grove General Hospital Cherry Reds. She was preceded by her parents, her sister and her brother. She is survived by her son Jack Brown, Jr, and his wife Patty of Tulsa, Oklahoma, her granddaughter Stephanie and her husband Dustin Cowart and their son Jackson and daughter Aria of Dallas, Georgia.
