Kathrena Franks

Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita, Oklahoma, 918-256-5555. Kathrena Franks, 82, passed from her home to her new home in heaven, January 30, 2018 with family and friends by her side. Mrs. Franks was a longtime businesswoman in Big Cabin, Oklahoma along with her husband Dewayne. She was co-owner of Big Cabin Truck Plaza, Cherokee Restaurant, and Franks & Sons Trucking. Mrs. Franks was born on July 30, 1935 in Port Gibson, Mississippi. She moved to Arkansas where she met and married Dewayne Franks on November 21, 1953, at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Caulksville, Arkansas. She loved to travel and watch grandkids play ball, and collected all types of art. Mrs. Franks is survived by her children, daughters Lisa Helm and husband Dwight, Gina Gammill, Tara Hargrove and husband Nolan; five grandchildren, Denton Gammill, Trace Helm, Skyler Hargrove, Kyle Hargrove, Paige Gammill; and six great grandchildren, Jadyn, Ava, Hadley, Diesel, Peyton and Blakley. Mrs. Franks was proceeded in death by her husband, Dewayne; granddaughter Jami Tala Helm; and son-in-law, Thomas Gammill. Mrs. Franks wishes were to have a small graveside service which will be Monday 2:00 p.m., February 5, 2018 at the Big Cabin Cemetery with a gathering at her home after the service from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Alive Church, 945 E. Illinois, Vinita, Oklahoma,74301 or Carter Healthcare Hospice, 702 N. Wilson, Vinita, Oklahoma, 74301. Services are entrusted to Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
