Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK.....918-786-2261....Kenneth "Kenney" P. Birkes, 67 year old, Grove, Oklahoma resident, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the OSU Medical Center, Tulsa, OK. Kenney was born on November 14, 1947 in Delaware County, Pennsylvania to Kenneth O. and Bonnie (Powell) Birkes. Kenney served his country in the United States Navy. He was owner/operator of Premier Powerline LLC, laying fiber optic lines. Kenney was married to his wife, Connie, for thirty years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. Kenney loved everyone and was a very honest man. Kenney was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by wife Connie of the home; two sons: Kenneth "Stoney" Birkes, of Grove, OK, and Brad Sowell and his wife Jamie of Tulsa, OK; one brother David Birkes and his wife Lorice of Tulsa, OK; one aunt Mildred Carter of Tulsa, OK; and a host of other relatives and friends. A visitation for Kenney will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral services for Kenney will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Grove, Oklahoma. Interment will be at the Resthaven Cemetery in Sperry, Oklahoma at 2PM.
