Lahoma Kay Branum went home to be with her Lord and Savior February 17, 2022 at the age of 77. Lahoma was born in Okmulgee, OK to Kerney and Hazel Kirkwood on August 8, 1944.
Lahoma enjoyed life and had many hobbies. Her occupation was working in a Glass Factory as an inspector. She also spent time antiquing, going to auctions, ebay, and quilting to name a few. She loved music and enjoyed collecting records. Lahoma’s favorite holiday was Christmas and every year would go all out for the celebration. She had an innate wisdom she instilled in her children and grandchildren as well as her friends. Whether you had just met her or knew her a lifetime, she left a positive imprint on your life. The essence of Lahoma will live on through those who knew and loved her. She often said she wasn’t a cookie baking mom or grandma; she was the one who would teach us things.
She is preceded in death by her parents Kerney and Hazel Kirkwood, siblings Clifford Kirkwood, Virginia Kirkwood, Geraldine Kirkwood, Gerald Kirkwood, Homer Harold Kirkwood and Cecil Kirkwood, and daughter Jacklyn Smith-Pedroza, grandchildren, Amy Fournier, Wesley Pedroza,
She is survived by her husband Mike Branum, children include Cynthia Godfrey, Regina Ann Smith-Oldfield and husband David, Chris Branum, and Stacey Branum-Barnes, and one sister, Laverne Yocham. Grandchildren include Rachael Fournier, Aiden Fournier, David Fournier, Matthew Fournier and wife Katie, Mariah Fournier, and Garrett Pedroza, and one great grandchild Roarke Fournier.
Services will be held at 1 PM, Monday, February 21, 2022, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Jay, OK. Lahoma will be laid to rest in Duffield Cemetery.
