Larry Jackson

December 6, 1946 — March 2, 2020

Larry Dale Jackson, 73 year old Miami resident, went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 2, 2020.  Larry was born in the Delaware Community on December 6, 1946 to William and Sarah (Willhite) Jackson.  He graduated from Grove High School in 1964.  The following year on June 27, 1965, he was united in marriage to Catherine Brixey.  Together they raised three children.  Larry was a man of variety.  He worked as a builder his whole life.  In his later years he was called to be a pastor.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, coaching, playing co-ed slow pitch softball, watching Thunder Basketball and OU football, camping, traveling, and going on mission trips.  He also enjoyed sharing the gospel with others.  Everywhere he went, even during his hospital stays, he would ask “Do you know where you’re going?”  He will be greatly missed, but his family takes comfort in knowing this is not good-bye, but we’ll see you again.

Survivors include his loving wife Cathy of the home, mother-in-law Lela Brixey of Zena, children: Kevin Jackson and wife Danette of Zena, Keith Jackson and wife Kelli of Zena, and Karla Jinks and husband Brad of Miami, one sister Dorcas Brewer of Fairland, 13 grandchildren: Kasey Jackson, Kami Willyard, Kadie Jackson, Koree Jackson, Megan Kirkland, Kade Bare, Kyson Jackson, Creek Jackson, Kameron Jinks, Kaleb Jinks, Keaton Jinks, Kylie Jinks, and Karson Jinks, and several great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: June Husong, Sherman Jackson, Chris Jackson, Richard Jackson, and Phyllis Jackson.

Visitation will be 2-4 Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2020 at the Delaware County Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Jinks officiating.  Interment will follow at Zena Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com or on the Worley Luginbuel Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to A Call Ministries, c/o Keith and Vickie Crowder, P.O. Box 451994, Grove, OK 74345
