Larry Stevens

Larry Eugene Stevens age 72 and resident of Bartlesville, OK, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville. Larry was born on February 24, 1944 in Enid, OK. He was the son of Lester Ensele Stevens and Inez Marie Best Stevens. Larry received his early education in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1963. Larry met Betty Lou Fuxa, the love of his life that same year. He went on to graduate from Enid Business College in 1965. Larry and Betty were married September 4, 1965 in Bison, OK. Larry's first job after business school was with Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville. He was drafted that same year. He served his country in the U.S. Army Fourth Infantry Division stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1968. After Larry's discharge Larry and Betty made their home in Bartlesville and he returned to his job at Phillips Petroleum. He left Phillips after 27 years and started his own Photography business, Stevens Studio. He operated his family business for 15 years in Bartlesville. Larry and Betty raised two children, Todd and April. Larry volunteered as an assistant coach for 13 years with Todd's baseball. He also volunteered with April's Camp Fire Boys and Girls Club for 12 years. He touched many lives. He enjoyed spending time with his beautiful wife of 50 years. He enjoyed time with his family and running off to Braums with his granddaughters. He loved his dog, Sam, and operating his Amateur Radio. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a long time member of The Sportsmen's Club, The Oklahoma State Archery Association, and The National Field Archery Association. Survivors include his wife, Betty; son, Todd from Bartlesville; daughter, April Seals of Dewey; two granddaughters, Angela and Ashley Seals; his sister, Carol Coddington of Oregon; cousins, Phillip Burford, David Burford, Sharon Pope, Alvin Best; sister-in- law, Dolores "Dee" Cunningham and her husband, Charley of Enid; brother-in-law, Robert Fuxa and his wife, Linda of Enid; and sister-in-law, Patricia "Pat" Stout and her husband, Floyd Stout; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, cousins, Carl Best and Bill Best, and his dog, Spur. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Fisher House of The Emerald Coast, 350 Boatner Rd., Elgin, AFB, FL 32542. Come and go visitation for Larry will be held on Tuesday, in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. Bartlesville, OK from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be celebrated at Arnold Moore & Neekamp Chapel on Wednesday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the service in Dewey Cemetery.
