Lehman D. Hay, a beloved Christian soul who touched the lives of many, passed away on May 12, 2024, in Grove, Oklahoma. Born on September 6, 1941, in Smithville, Arkansas to William and Malinda Hay, Lehman leaves behind a legacy of kindness and joy that will forever be cherished by his surviving family and friends.
Lehman had a fulfilling career driving the school bus for special education students in Colorado. He touched numerous lives with his kindness and compassion during his time behind the wheel. One of the many things that set Lehman apart was his love for hats and shirts - he had a different one for every occasion. His colorful wardrobe was a reflection of his vibrant personality. Lehman was incredibly kind and welcoming to all who knew him. Lehman enjoyed traveling all over the country, exploring new places, and meeting new people. He cherished these experiences and carried the memories close to his heart.
Lehman is preceded in death by his parents William and Malinda Hay, 11 brothers, and 3 sisters. Lehman is survived by his devoted wife Helen Hay, loving children Terry Hay and Jana Hay, stepson Tony Stafford, brothers James Hay and Curtis Hay, as well as 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who will always carry his legacy forward. He also leaves behind numerous other friends and family members who were touched by his warmth and generosity, along with members of his church family who were blessed to have known him.
Lehman’s family will celebrate his life on June 1st, 2024, at 4:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church.Saturday, June 1, 2024
