Leonard Ray “Bud” Jackson has passed away at the age of 52 in Jay, Oklahoma. He was born on November 28, 1971, in Grove, Oklahoma. Bud was a loving father to his children Blake White of Grove, Oklahoma, Conner Kirby of Jay, Oklahoma, and Dakota Jackson and girlfriend Kaitlyn of Alaska.
Beyond his professional endeavors as a residential roofer, Bud led an active and vibrant life. He pursued various hobbies that brought him joy. He enjoyed collecting coins, hunting for arrowheads, playing pool and darts and outdoor adventures such as camping and fishing. Bud was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
One of Bud's unique talents was crafting knives. His skillful hands produced exquisite pieces that showcased his creativity and attention to detail. Moreover, he had an appreciation for Indian art, which further fueled his passion for craftsmanship.
Throughout his life journey, Bud achieved many accomplishments which he held dear to his heart. Notably, he was a letterman in track and field during his school years—an achievement that symbolized his dedication and determination.
Bud was preceded in death by his dad Kenneth and mother Mary, his Uncles Jerry Tanner, Docky Tanner, Marvin Sexton and Frank Burleson, his Aunt Bert, his Aunt Lela Hicks, and stepdaughter Chasity Butcher.
Bud is survived by his brother Daniel Jackson and wife Julie of Grove; sisters Janene Layne and husband Shane of Jay; Tina Jackson of Strang, Oklahoma; Shelly Jackson and wife Beth also of Strang; and grandson Bruce White, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he touched with his warm spirit.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-7 PM, Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, located at 711 South Main Street, Grove, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service to honor of Leonard's life will be held at 1:00 PM on February 2, 2024, at Butler Baptist Church located at 64990 E 335 Rd, Jay, OK 74346. Bud will be laid to rest in O’Field Cemetery.
Leonard Ray Jackson's legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
