Leslie Dean Wickham, 89-year-old Nowata resident passed away September 20, 2019 at The Journey Home in Bartlesville, OK with his family at his side. Leslie was born February 14, 1930 in Watova, OK, the son of Verne D. and Nellie M. “Worster” Wickham. He attended Fairview School and then graduated Nowata High School class of 1949. Leslie married the love of his life Doris Dowse on October 27, 1950 in Bentonville Arkansas. Leslie operated a dairy farm till 1974 and then raised beef cattle. He was a hard worker after a long day, he would do the chores on the farm, (bail hay, water and feed the animals, build fence, and whatever else needed to be done). He enjoyed watching Nowata Ironmen and OU football, riding his four-wheeler daily, square dancing and spending time with his family. Leslie was a loving person that will be missed by all who knew him.
Leslie is preceded in death by his wife Doris; his parents; siblings Lowell Wickham, Keith Wickham and Delma Stevens.
Survivors include children, Terry Wickham and wife Linda of Nowata, Paul Wickham and wife Georgene of Nowata, Beverly Johnson and partner Dane Mangels of Nowata, Kathy Morris and husband Tony of Childers, Penny Ivie and husband Dennis of Nowata; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside service is 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Wickham Family Cemetery in Nowata County with Pastor Charlie Cunningham officiating.
