Letha Fisher

May 20, 1958 — November 15, 2013

On Friday November 15, 2013 at 5:17 PM as the sun was setting, we lost our beloved PRINCESS Letha. Letha Joan (Hall) Fisher, known to her friends as Princess, left this world and her earthly body for her heavenly home. She succumbed to massive brain trauma and metastasis breast cancer to her brain. Her courageous fight with the evil of Cancer is finally over and she is without pain and suffering. She fought this fight for 10 years and had won many of her battles. But this one was not to be. She showed strength and courage and most of all grace and style during her long battle. She never gave up hope. She also never shied away from the word Cancer; she wore many shirts that would proclaim her hatred and disgust for Cancer and also shirts that proclaimed her continuing fights, and those that she had won. She would talk to anyone about how to fight the battles and also wrote about what it was like to be on the other side of treatments. She shared her story with anyone that wanted to hear. Her love was LIFE. She shared that love with the love of her life, and best friend, her husband and her daughters, and her friends. She had one daughter by birth Jessica, but had two others that called her mom, Marlene and Carlotta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Edna Hall, and her brothers Rick and Bob. She is survived by her husband Charles "Chuck" Fisher of the home in Grove, Oklahoma, her daughter Jessica Baker and her husband James Logan Baker and Grandson Jameson (Jelly Bean) of Overland Park Kansas; Her extended daughter Marlene Williams, and her children Sebastian, Ethan, and Lilly of Merriam, Kansas and her other extended daughter Carlotta Shuler of Kansas City; Her favorite niece Lisa K Carroll and her family from Modesto, California, and Jon Carroll and wife Anna, in Rohnert Park California. Her passion was her Antique store in Grove and her family, but she also was involved in her community and served as Treasure of the Grove Area Merchants Association. She belonged to the Grand Lake Association as well as the Grove Chamber of Commerce and the Grand Lake Camera Club. She was also a past president of the Kansas City Barbie club. She absolutely loved the Grove area and the lake. She was born in San Francisco, moved to the greater Washington DC Metro area where she went to school, she moved across the country to California and ended up back in the McLean/Sterling area outside of DC, until a guy put a ring on her finger and moved her to Kansas City. After 18 years in KC, the opportunity to move to Grove 5 1/2 years presented itself, which is a whole another story, and she always said it was the best thing she had done, she loved Grove and the people in it. She will be tremendously missed and leaves behind a huge void in her adopted community of Grove, as well as her multitude of friends world wide. Her Facebook page, will be up for a long time, contact her family there. Memorial Services will be in Grove, 2:30 PM Wednesday November 20, 2013 at Grace Presbyterian Church; and in Kansas City on Saturday the 23rd at 10 am at the Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, Kansas. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the INTEGRIS Grove Hospital Foundation, Grove Oklahoma, the American Cancer Association, or the Grove Humane Society. Services are entrusted to Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove. Family and Friends may view the obituary online and send condolences at www.honoringmemories.com
