Linda Clouse

Linda Kay Ellsworth Clouse 72 of Grove, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord Sunday February 16th, 2020.  She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.  Linda was born August 21, 1947 in Stroud, Oklahoma to Levoy Carl Ellsworth Sr, and Lucille Elizabeth Niemeier Ellsworth.

Linda married Vic Clouse on June 17, 1978 and they were devoted to each other for the last 41 years.   She was the loving mother of Matthew Clouse (Anne) and Melanie Weaver (Jeff). Affectionately called Mimi, Linda was the proud, adoring and boastful grandmother of Mackenzie (12), Marli (8), Max (7) and Mason (5).  She was the big sister of Levoy Ellsworth, Jr (Jennifer).

Linda was a life-long educator. In her 35 years as a third and fourth grade teacher for Grove Elementary School, she taught hundreds of children how to read and write. She loved social studies and Oklahoma history. Linda was honored as Teacher of the Year in 2008.  Vic and Linda served as the Grove High School Homecoming Grand Marshals for the 2017 parade. And of course, Mimi purchased matching Ridgerunner shirts for her four grandchildren to wear in the parade.

Linda was an avid sports fan and her love for the Oklahoma Sooners was unmatched. She rarely missed a home football game and would watch all sports involving her Sooners.  When it was time to say goodbye to her grandkids, she would say “Boomer” and they would yell “Sooner” as they drove away. Even more than her love for the Sooners was her love for her family and friends. They were the center of her universe, the loves of her life. She loved deeply, listened intently and laughed often. She was truly an incredible person.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove, Oklahoma Thursday February 20th, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a celebration of life at First United Methodist Church of Grove Friday February 21st, 2020 at 11 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grove Education Foundation For Excellence (GEFFE) PO BOX 453335 Grove, OK 74345 or the First United Methodist Church Choir 1005 Leisure Rd, Grove, OK 74344.
