ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, BARTLESVILLE, OK - (918) 336-5225 Lita Sue Hendricks, age 84 and former resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017, in Ft. Worth, Texas. Lita Sue Allton was born on August 31, 1932 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Richard Vincent Allton and Ruth Elizabeth (Reeve) Allton. At an early age, the family moved to the Dewey, Oklahoma community where she received her education. She attended the Blue Mound school, grades one through three, which was east of Dewey. She then attended Dewey public schools , graduating with the 1950 Sr. graduation class of Dewey. She was active in many areas of school, particularly playing the clarinet as a member of the marching band. During her high school years, she was named "Band Queen". In Bartlesville, Lita was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company and was a loyal employee for many years. At the time of her retirement, she was a Telecommunication Supervisor. She married Steve Hendricks in Dewey, Oklahoma and they made their home in Bartlesville where they raised their two daughters, Susan Lynette and Sharon Denise. While her health permitted, Lita was a very active and faithful member of The Bible Church of Bartlesville. Steve preceded Lita in death in 1986 and she continued her residence in Bartlesville until the death of her daughter Susan in 2011, when she moved to Texas to be near her daughter, Sharon, and her family. Lita had been in ill health for a number of years. She will be dearly missed, not only by family, but by the many friends and acquaintances she had as a result of her years in the Bartlesville and Dewey area and her employment at Phillips. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Thomas and her husband, Steve, of Hurst, Texas; granddaughter, Laura O'Connor and her husband, David of Watauga, Texas; grandson, Christopher Thomas of Hurst, Texas; granddaughter, Elizabeth Wild and her husband, Josh, of Bedford, Texas; great-grandchildren, Megan O'Connor, Hannah Elder, Hunter Thomas, and Jaxon Wild. Other survivors include many cousins and other relatives and friends. Lita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Steve; her daughter, Susan Lynette Hendricks; and two brothers, Richard and Robert. Remembrances may be made in Lita's memory to the Parkinson's Foundation, c/o The Michael J. Fox Foundation, Donation Processing, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014. Come and go visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. Family will be present to greet friends from 5-7:00 PM. Services for Lita will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home chapel. Family friend, Pastor Chuck McCarthy, of the Bible Church of Bartlesville, will be the officiant. Burial will be beside her husband, Steve, and her daughter, Susan Lynette, in the Dewey City Cemetery following the chapel service.
