Lynda Mackie

Lynda Mae Mackie, age 64, and longtime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Monday, February 20, 2012. Lynda Mae Cornett was born on May 7, 1947 in Gravois Mills, Missouri. She was the daughter of Elwood and Anna Mae Cornett. Lynda was raised and educated in Independence, Missouri. She graduated from Independence School of Hairdressing in 1968. Lynda moved to Bartlesville in 1970. In 1973, she became employed with Applied Automation. In 1976, she became an employee of Phillips Petroleum Company in the Corporate Services Department. She worked in various departments of the Company before retiring after 18 years of service. Lynda was self-employed as a hair stylist in her home for 17 years. During those years, she attained many friends and acquaintances. Many that met Lynda never forgot her and she always remembered them. She made and kept many loyal friends over the years. She loved everyone she met and they loved her in return. Her out-going personality drew people close to her. Lynda enjoyed her Red Hat Society and Bunko activities, as well as going to and working at auctions. She loved all animals and was responsible for many rescues. Her two dogs, Rowdy and Teddy, also had a special place in her heart. She will be missed by family, friends and her two Maltese pals. Survivors include two sons, Martin "Marty" Schultz and his wife, Vivian, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Craig Schultz and his wife, Debbie, of Phenix City, Alabama; four grandchildren, Brent, Brianna, Noelle and Justin; her mother, Anna Mae (Mullins) Cornett, of Independence, Missouri; three sisters, Sherry Carey of Independence, Missouri, Carol Bullard of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, and Michelle Cornett of Independence, Missouri; two brothers, Charles Cornett and his wife, Joan, of Winfield, Kansas and Russell Cornett of Independence, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Kluska, her father, Elwood Cornett; and her brother, Donald Elwood Cornett. Charitable donations may be made to the United Leukodystrophy Foundation, 2304 Highland Drive, Sycamore, Illinois 60178 or to the First Wesleyan Church, 1776 Silverlake Rd., Bartlesville, OK 74006. Please note on your check "Lynda Mackie Memorial Fund". Memorial services for Lynda will be held on Saturday, the 3rd of March, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., in the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Joe Colaw will be the officiant. Cremains interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
