Marc Madison McClure returned to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a hard-fought battle with cancer on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the age of 60.
Marc was born on September 10, 1962 to John Allen and Linda Faye (Suttle) McClure in Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from Starmont High School in 1980, attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Junior College then graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1986. He worked in software marketing at TMS, Inc. and was a program coordinator for Oklahoma State University Extension programs. He changed career paths so he could do what he loved, ministering to people, through Fellowship of the Sword and Life Outreach International.
Marc married Shari (Gilbert) McClure on July 30, 1983. Together they raised two wonderful children, Matthew Thomas McClure and Amanda Michelle McClure.
Marc was a member of Lake Country Church and loved God with all his heart as well as his entire family. He loved God’s children, a love he expressed in his unique humor and ability to connect with other people on the deepest levels. He loved to make people laugh, encourage them, and love them right where they were.
Marc was an avid college football fan with Oklahoma State University Cowboys being his favorite team. He loved to write short stories and poems and “remix” the words to songs to make others laugh.
Marc will be greatly missed by his surviving family: wife of 39 years, Shari; children Matthew and Amanda; parents John and Linda; brothers Eric McClure, and Scot McClure and wife Stephanie; aunts Juanita Holmes and Geraldine Beavers; and nieces/nephews Justin McClure, Paige McClure, Jake McClure, Maris McClure, Brett Adamie and Nikki Adamie.
Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 11:00 am at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, Grove, Oklahoma.
Interment will be in Buzzard Cemetery, Grove, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Life Outreach International (water wells were his favorite), Union Station, or Love and Light Ministries.
