Margaret Ann McCullar passed away January 11, 2020 at her home in Disney, Oklahoma. She was born September 24, 1941 in Sacramento, California, the daughter of John Allen McKibben and Opal Lenora “Callahan” McKibben. Margaret was raised in Independence, Kansas. While in High School Margaret’s family moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma where she graduated from Muskogee High School. Margaret attended Northeastern State University where she met and married her first husband James Farthing the father of her three children. Margaret and James Moved to California where they lived until 1972. Margaret met and married Luke McCullar in San Antonio, Texas on December 28, 1996. She and Luke moved back to Oklahoma making their home in the Disney area in 2005 where she lived the remainder of her life. She worked for USAA insurance company as their customer service manager till she retired. Margaret lived a servant’s life after retirement being actively involved as a volunteer at the Blue House and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of South Grand Lake Christian Church which she was very involved. Margaret cherished spending time with her and Luke’s family and her pets. The family suggest charitable donations be made to PAAS of Vinita or South Grand Lake Christian Church in memory of Margaret.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Mickey Allen and a granddaughter Maddie Davis.
Survivors include husband, Luke McCullar of the home; children, Maribeth Davis and husband Randy of Manhattan Kansas, Mike Farthing and wife Kate of Portland, Oregon, Jeff Farthing, Lodi California, Rob McCullar and wife Deanna of OKC, OK, Kim Johnson of OKC, OK; nine grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
A celebration of life for Margaret will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the South Grand Lake Christian Church with Reverend Gina Jackson officiating. She will be laid to rest at Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan, Kansas.
