Marian Griffin

Marian Eve Griffin, 84, Bartlesville, died early Monday morning, August 31, 2020 at The Journey Home.

Marian was born February 25, 1936 at Lyons, Kansas to Charles Clifford Dobbins and Creta (Koogle) Dobbins.  She grew up in Lyons and received her education there.  She met and married Howard Griffin and the couple had three children.  Mr. Griffin finished college and the couple moved to Oklahoma.  Howard took a job with Phillips Petroleum and the Griffins moved to Bartlesville in the 1960s.  Marian began working in nursing homes in the 1970s.  She was a caregiver and beauty shop manager, until her retirement.  Marian was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed tending to her roses and other flowers.  Marian was a bird watcher, and especially enjoyed the hummingbirds.  She loved to watch TV and her favorite shows were Jeopardy! and The Five.  She and Janel enjoyed viewing Netflix every evening.

Survivors include three children, Brian Griffin and wife, Mary Jo of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Grant Griffin and wife, Irma of Dallas, Texas and Janel Griffin of Bartlesville; one brother, Doyle Dobbins and wife, Carol of Lyons, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Rachel Griffin, Tyler Griffin and Natalia. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her former husband, Howard Griffin on April 16, 2015 and by a brother, Gene Dobbins.
