Marilyn Lee (Canaday) Anglen, 76 year old resident of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on September 6, 2021.
Marilyn was born on September 4, 1945 in Casper, Wyoming. She was the daughter of Roy Newton and Willie (Greene) Canaday. After graduating high school, she attended Crowder College. She was united in marriage to Larry Anglen in 1981, and they moved to Grove in 1997. Marilyn was the first female police officer for Neosho police department. She also was the first female that was qualified to operate a patrol car by herself. Marilyn spent many years taking care of people as a caregiver. She enjoyed playing water volleyball, painting, and tending to her roses and azaleas.
She is survived by her husband Larry of the home, her children Dawnalee Gadberry and husband Tim, Richard Jackson and Linda Ortman and husband Charlie, Annette Anglen-Myers, Greg Childress, Tammy Childress, her brother Russell Ellingsworth, three sisters: Linda Hewitt, Dottie Oakman, and Thelma LeBartew. Marilyn was blessed with 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, September 8, 2021 and with services scheduled for 10 AM, Thursday, September 9, 2021 both at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove. Marilyn will be laid to rest in Buzzard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in her name at Bearskin Wellness in Wyandotte, Oklahoma.
