Spc. Mark Andre Harding of Grove died Friday, May 28, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla., of cranial complications. He was 21. Mark graduated from Thunderbird Youth Academy in May 2006 before joining the U.S. Army. Mark served a 14-month tour in Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 101st Airborne, 2nd Battalion, and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, an Army Service Ribbon, an Overseas Service Ribbon, and a Combat Infantryman Badge. While growing up in Grove, he was a member of Dodge Baptist Church and was most recently attending Eastland Assembly of God in Tulsa, Okla. He enjoyed many hobbies and interests, including church activities, hunting, playing sports and playing the guitar. His sense of humor and ability to make everyone laugh will be missed. Mark is survived by his mother and father, William and Angelina Harding, Jr. of Grove; brothers, Will of Tulsa, and Duane and his wife, Jawauna of Stillwater; sisters, Ashley of New Orleans, Amanda of Stillwater and Karissa of Grove; grandparents, William and Mary Harding, Sr. of Jay, Okla., and Ricardo and Bebe Vigo of Pensacola, Fla.; and Audrey Boylen of New Orleans, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends and loved ones. Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove. A funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church Southwest City, Mo., with Pastor Gene Schmeling officiating and Pastor Randy Dyer assisting. Burial will be in Polson Cemetery Grove, Okla., just west of Southwest City, MO. Military Honors will be provided at the cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jacob Harding, Dustin Caudill, Stan Treat, Bill Walker, Jr., Efrem Westbrooks, and Jimmy Westbrooks. Honorary bearers will be his older brothers, Will and Duane Harding. Memorials may be made in Mark's memory to Gideon's International. Services are entrusted to Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.
