Martha Carey

Martha A. Carey, 86, of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma departed this life at 9:05 a.m. on November 22, 2008 in Monticello, Illinois. She was the last of 10 children. Martha was born April 24, 1922 in Bentonville, Arkansas to James and Gertrude (Kelly) Melton. She was retired from the food service industry. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and quilting. She was a fantastic cook and she baked delicious breads and pies. Martha was preceded in death by her parents Gertrude and James Melton, and her nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her five children, Peggy Keeter of Monticello, Illinois, Phyllis Copeland of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Sandra Dennen of Oronogo, Missouri, Eddie Carey of Joplin, Missouri and Rockey Carey of Saginaw, Missouri; 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 9.5 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. The funeral service will at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma with her family officiating. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in the family plot at Buzzard Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma.
