Marvin Rogers

Marvin was born on May 15, 1932 in Niotaze, Kansas. He was the son of Clifford A. Rogers and Mary C. (Henderson) Rogers. He attended grade school at Pleasant Grove, Oklahoma and was a 1950 High School Graduate at Copan, Oklahoma. He continued his education at Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University) in Stillwater where he graduated in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
Marvin served four years in the U.S. Air Force. While serving in the military, he married Billie Charlene Adamson at Wann, Oklahoma on November 19, 1955. They made their first home in Sacramento, California where he was stationed at Mather Air Force Base. They were later transferred to Altus Air Force Base and remained there a year and a half before being transferred along with the entire 337th Bomb Squadron, 96th Bomb Wing, to Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas. Following his Honorable Discharge from the service, the couple returned to Bartlesville where Marvin began his 34-year career with Phillips Petroleum Company.
Marvin and Billie made their home in Wann from 1958 until moving to rural Dewey in 1978. He retired in March of 1992 as a Computer Analyst Supervisor in the Supply and Accounting Department of Phillips Petroleum Company.
Marvin was an active member of the Dewey United Methodist Church and he was a member of the United Methodist Men's Club. He was also a charter member of the Wann Lions Club where he served as secretary for 10 years. He then joined the Dewey Lions Club upon moving to Dewey and was a member for 50 years.
Survivors include his three sons and daughters-in-law, Barry B. and Susan Rogers of Bartlesville, Terry L and Beth Rogers of Dewey and Darrin W. and Lisa Rogers of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Justin Rogers and wife, Elizabeth, and Ashley Woolfolk and husband, Matt, and Kelsey and Kinsey Rogers; great-grandchildren, Brynlee and Deegan Rogers; one brother, Clifford D. Rogers of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; and one sister, Martha Jane Burruss of Bartlesville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie in 2008; a daughter, Robin Rene Rogers in 1958; his parents, Clifford A. and Mary C. Rogers; and one brother, Frank Edwin Rogers.
