Mary Beal

Mary Elizabeth Beal, 86, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Betty Ann Nursing Center in Grove, Oklahoma, with her family at her side. Mary "Liz" was born November 10, 1925, to James Jackson and Nancy (Casper) Jackson, in Ottawa County, Oklahoma. She was the tenth born of 13 children. Mary grew up in the Grove area attending Ketcher School through the 8th grade. At the age of 16, Mary moved to California with her aunt and uncle. She spent a few years there before returning to Oklahoma. On May 25, 1946, she married Edward Leotus Beal in Columbus, Kansas and four children were born to this union. Mary was a homemaker the majority of her life and devoted much of her time and energy to her children. She loved to be around all of her family and friends, but there was a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very devoted to her church and her church family. Her interests included gardening, quilting and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward and two grandsons Bryan Beal and Edward Ray Beal; and 12 siblings: William Jackson, Orville Jackson, Morris Jackson, Cleve Jackson, Charlie Jackson, Ray Jackson, A.D. Jackson, Gene Jackson, James (Poke) Jackson, Fannie Clark, Naomi Needham, and Nellie Downing (there were 13 but now there are none). She is survived by her daughter and three sons, Brenda Francisco and her husband Don of Joplin, Missouri; Benny Beal and his wife Linda of Grove, Oklahoma; Rodney Beal of Neosho, Missouri; Clifford Beal and his wife Linda of Neosho, Missouri; and 10 grandchildren: Gigi, Chris, Randy, Teresa, Melissa, Daniel, Rebecca, Bridget, Clifton, Ruth Ann and 20 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers: Chris Beal, Randy Beal, Clifton Beal, Daniel Beal, Brad Asher, and David Acres. Honorary pallbearers: Melissa Beal, Rebecca Acres, Bridget Francisco, and Ruth Ann Asher. The graveside service will be held at the Zena Cemetery on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10AM with Pastor Larry Solomon, presiding. The family will greet friends from 6PM to 8PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK on Tuesday, August 28, 2012.
