Mary Henson

Mary Allene (Jenkins) Henson, eighty four year old lifetime Vinita Resident passed away at her home on Monday October 24, 2011. Mary was born July 25, 1927 the daughter of Arlin Jenkins and Claudia Elsey Jenkins. After high School Mary attended NSU at Tahlequah where she earned her bachelor's degree. She worked as an Assistant County School Superintendent and taught for many years at Will Rogers and Hall Halsell elementary schools until her retirement. Mary attended the Methodist Church and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed reading, making crafts, especially Christmas Stockings. Mrs. Henson was a gifted teacher that loved her family as well as teaching school and all of her students. Surviving Mary is her daughter Judy Henson of Vinita, a sister Martha (Jenkins) Higgins and her husband Charles Leo of Coweta, OK, grandsons, Clayton Henson and his wife Jami, Ron Henson and Eric Henson of Vinita, a daughter in law, Donna Henson and family, Frank and Joseph Veach of Vinita, a sister in law Mildred (Henson) Partain of Langley, OK, five great grand children and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her Husband William Junius Henson in 1953, and one son, Ronnie Henson and Eugene Jenkins. Visitation will be Thursday October 27, 2011 from 6:00 until 7:00 at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday October 28, 2011 at Luginbuel Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend George Vaughn officiating with interment to follow at Carslowey Cemetery under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
