Mary Louise (Jumper) Snell-Butler, 87 year old, lifetime resident of Jay, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 7, 2019.
Mary was born on November 30, 1931 to Esiah and Nancy (Teehee) Jumper. Mary was united in marriage to Richard Snell on September 15, 1955. After his passing, Mary found love again when she married John E. Butler on July 30, 1999.
For many years, Mary was a cook for Grove Public School. She enjoyed spending time gardening and tending to her flowers. She was a member of the Butler Baptist Church and now a member of the Mt. Hermon Church and the Tsa-la-gi Woman’s Club of Delaware County. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Snell, Sr., her husband John E. Butler, brothers: Bert Jumper, Barney Jumper, Joe Jumper, Wallace Jumper, son in-law Jeff Osment, and son Tom Snell.
She is survived by her children: Richard Sherman Snell, Jr., wife Nancy, Betty Gray, husband Lee, Carolyn Osment, Steven Snell, Virginia Carnell, John Elmo Butler (Marsha), Bill Butler (Sharon) and Gene Butler (Sally). Mary was blessed with 25 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 31 great-great grandchildren, and yo-nega adopted daughter Marilyn Browning. Mary is also survived by her two sisters; Louise Soldier and Joan Spade.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the Jay Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, August 12, 2019 at Mt. Hermon Church. Mary will be laid to rest in the Snell Family Cemetery.
