Mary Thomas

Mary Lee Thomas, age 70, a longtime resident of Big Cabin died Friday April 17, 2009 in Claremore, OK. She was born March 18, 1939 in Sallisaw, OK the daughter of William Clarence Mayhan and Jocie C. Dobbs Mayhan. Mary Lee was raised and educated in Sallisaw then attended Contra Costa Jr. College in Richmond CA. She and Howel Glyn Thomas were united in marriage on July 2, 1976 in Benton, Arkansas. They moved to Big Cabin where she was a homemaker and mother and enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, watching football, nascar racing, and reading romance novels. She is survived by, one sister, Betty Thomas Humphries, her children, Jerald Lee Risley of Sallisaw, Darlene Risley Mason, Ila Lynn Lough of Mt. Ranch, CA, Donna Smith of Claremore, OK, Lonnie Risley of Cheyenne WY, Wanema Cox of Choteau, OK and Ryan Risley of Mannford, OK, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday April 27, 2009 in Maple Cemetery near Sallisaw, OK with The Rev.Steve Rutherford officiating, under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
