Muriel Miller

Murial A."Mickey" Miller, age 90, died Thursday May 4, 2006 at St. Simeons Episcopal Home in Tulsa, OK. Muriel Avonne (Mickey) Maine was born June 25, 1915 in Walden, Colorado the daughter of Archie G. Maine and Esther (Erickson) Maine. After schooling in Walden she attended Colorado Woman's College in Denver, Colorado and graduated with an Associates Degree in the Arts in 1935. On June 21, 1936, Mickey married Vince Miller in Wichita, Kansas. In 1940 they made Bartlesville their permanent home. Besides raising four children Mickey also taught in the Bartlesville School system and worked as a Medical Receptionist for Dr. Elvin Amen until he retired in 1986. She was deeply involved with St. Luke's Episcopal Church and enjoyed Little Theatre, various book clubs, opera, concerts and for many years was a pastoral Care Volunteer at Jane Phillips Hospital. Mickey greatly looked forward to the OK Mozart festival which she supported through volunteer work, attended every session she could and had done since its inception. She is survived by a daughter and son-in -law, Ann and James Legg of Worland, Wyoming, three sons and daughters-in-law, Vincent and Marilyn Miller of Oklahoma City, Chaz Miller and Arlene Gottlieb of Silver Spring, Maryland and Eric and Renee' Miller of Tulsa. There are also ten grand children and one great grandchild. Memorials maybe made in lieu of flowers to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 210 E. 20th Street Bartlesville, OK 74003 A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday May 9, 2006 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with the Reverend Dr. T. Lee Stephens officiating. Cremation arrangements were by the Neekamp - Luginbuel Funeral Home of Bartlesville.
