The sun rose for Myrna Joan Rodgers on March 17, 1939, into the loving arms of her parents Harry and Mattie (Little) Stierwalt. The sun sat for Myrna on Friday, October 21, 2016, at St. John Medical Center, once again being back in the loving arms of her parents. She was a 1957 graduate of Nowata High School. In 1959 she married the love of her life Wesley Rodgers. Together they raised two children, David Allen, and Donna Lynn. Myrna did various jobs from cake decorating to working as a homemaker, which was by far her favorite job. She loved to jump in the car and go on spur of the moment places with whomever was willing to go! She loved being on the go. Myrna had a soft spot for cats, her current baby being Sophi. Her family meant so much to her, most of all she loved spoiling her great grandson Calen and she was blessed with a new great granddaughter on Tuesday, October 18, Claire. Myrna is survived by her daughter Donna Hudson and her husband Rick of Claremore, Oklahoma; sister Muriel Pride of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one granddaughter Ashley Sowder and her husband Denney of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and two great grandchildren, Calen Sowder and Claire Sowder. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mattie Stierwalt; her husband, Wesley Rodgers; her son David Rodgers; siblings Gertrude Norvell, John Kenneth (Pete) Stierwalt, Leonard Earl (Bud) Stierwalt and Harry (Junior) Stierwalt. Memorial services for Myrna Joan Rodgers will be Saturday, October 29, 2016, 10:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata, Oklahoma with Kelly Collins officiating.
