Nancy Jane-Hogan Dykes, a beloved teacher and mentor, passed away on September 5th, 2023, in Grove, Oklahoma. Born on December 2nd, 1937, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, to Turk and Gracie Pearl Hogan. Nancy's life was filled with compassion, dedication, and a deep love for education and the students she housed.

Nancy was a teacher at Jay, Oklahoma, where she devoted many years to shaping the minds and hearts of countless students. Her passion for teaching knew no bounds as she wholeheartedly treated her students as her own children. Nancy's unwavering commitment to her students went beyond the classroom. She graciously opened her home and welcomed numerous foreign exchange students over the years. She held close relationships with them for many years after they returned home, many of whom she considers like her children. Some of the closest to her were Astrid Winkler, Khristina Ro, Timo Beelow, and Andres Sanchez. Nancy's commitment to learning extended beyond her own achievements; she instilled a love for learning within each of her students.

One of Nancy's proudest accomplishments was her ability to speak German. Her love for the language inspired her to travel to Germany whenever possible. Nancy reveled in immersing herself in the German culture and connecting with the people she encountered during her travels.

Nancy's gentle spirit touched the lives of many throughout the years. She will forever be remembered for her kind-hearted nature and unwavering dedication to education and those she cared about. Her wisdom and guidance will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Turk and Gracie Pearl Hogan, husband Leon “Buddy” Dykes and Nephew Tim Hogan.

Nancy is survived by siblings John Moe Hogan, Andy Shannon Hogan, and Charlene "Cheno" Kennedy. Foster children Astrid Winkler, Khristina Ro, Timo Beelow, and Andres Sanchez, as well as 4 nieces and 4 nephews.

Nancy is under the care of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, at this time family will have a private service.
