Nathanael Webb

Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home - Grove, Oklahoma 918-786-2261. Nathanael Lane Webb was born in Oklahoma City, OK. on April 2, 1992, the son of Randy and Juanita Webb, Afton, OK. He attended elementary school at Cleora, OK and graduated from Grove High School, while concurrently attending Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics in 2010. Webb recently passed on January 13, 2017 after a valiantly fought almost four-year battle with cancer. Nathan entered into the next life to be with the Lord after spending his 24 years here as an inspiration to many and doing something he loved - serving his Lord, family and country. Nathan was nine years old when he first visited the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). He determined that day the path he needed to follow. In his freshman year at Grove High School, he found his niche when he became a member of the Grove Civil Air Patrol Squadron where he eventually obtained the rank of C/Captain. Webb led his team to victory in the Oklahoma Wing Color Guard competition in 2008 where he personally obtained the "Fleet Foot Award." From that time, he was off and running towards his goal - entrance into USAFA. Among the many CAP events Webb attended included an introduction to basic fighter pilot training at Columbus, MS., where he received the "Heart and Soul" award and he later earned a "Blue Beret" for his participation at the EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh, WI. Nathan also attended Cadet Officer School at Maxwell AFB, AL. and participated in numerous other CAP activities while pursuing his private pilot's license as a member of Grove CAP. In 2009, Nathan became the Oklahoma CAP Cadet of the Year, which allowed him an "Incentive Flight" at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK. He later received his nomination and attended the USAFA Prep School where he was also able to find an outlet for his love of soccer diving and skiing. The culmination of Webb's initial life's endeavors occurred when he was accepted into the USAFA, where he had the opportunity to develop as an individual and he worked to become one of the elite members of the "Long Blue Line" in the USAFA Class of 2015. However, before Nathan could graduate, he developed a brain tumor. He even returned to USAFA following cancer treatments only to later develop more tumors, which he fought to the very end. Nathan Webb is survived by his parents, Randy and Juanita Webb Afton, OK; his brother Jeremiah Welch, Colorado Springs, CO; his sister Tiffany Cook, Nowata, OK; his grandmother, Viola Webb, Chandler, OK; his nephews Tristin and Tyler Cook. Welch, OK and numerous other family and friends. Nathan previously expressed that he was well aware that there is a price to be paid for freedom. If he were here today he would say - Do not be sad. I follow this path by my own volition so you don't have to. I do this without any personal reservation. Do not weep for me; for I am not here, I am not dead, I am not alone. I have the company of all of those who have come before me; and all of those who follow. For we are all members of "The Long Blue Line." Services for Nathan will be conducted by Worley=Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK. Visitation will be held Tuesday January 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. and services will be held at Lake Center Baptist Church on Monkey Island, OK.
