Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay - Nettie Beatrice Dewberry Sutton, 91 year old Jay, Oklahoma resident, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014. "Nettie B" was born on January 8, 1923 in Athens, Texas to John McHenry and Hallie (Williams) Dewberry. She attended high school in Athens until the family moved to the Dallas area. "Nettie B" married Meredith Lynn Sutton on February 16, 1946 in Dallas, Texas. In 1954 they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and started Untied Plating Work Incorporated. "Nettie B" and Lynn loved to travel and took many trips together, including a cruise around the world. "Nettie B" worked for the National Bureau of Auto Theft Recovery during WWII, but was primarily a homemaker, a job she took very seriously. She served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout den mother and a Campfire Girls leader. She was the WMU president at church, and a part of the OSU Extension Homemakers. She also taught Sunday school and children's vacation bible school for decades. In her free time "Nettie B" enjoyed embroidery, sewing, crocheting, and cross stitching, as well as knitting and quilting. She was active in the Prairie Queen Quilters, Green Country Quilters, and the Blooming Acres Gardening Club. She also enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Friendly 8's square dancing club. "Nettie B" was preceded in death by her husband Lynn, four sisters, Rachel Britton, Geraldine Abernathy, Eva Beer, and Coral Williams, one brother, Meyer Dewberry, and four nephews. "Nettie B" is survived by three children, David J. Sutton and wife Karen, of Owasso, Oklahoma, Susan Collins and husband Robert, of Jay, Oklahoma, and Robert E Sutton and wife Paula, of Skiatook, Oklahoma, a sister Mary Frances Sharp and husband George Jr., of Houston, Texas, fourteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. Funeral services for "Nettie B" will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday February 25, 2014 at the 1st Assembly of God in Jay, Oklahoma. Pastor Chad Allred will officiate. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday February 24, 2014 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in 'Nettie B's" honor to the children's playground fund at the First Assembly of God, P.O.
